The Kriegsmarine lost almost all of its major ships during World War II, but was also able to sink several major allied warships. Most of them were were sunk by U-Boats, not very surprising since the U-Boat fleet was by far the largest subdivision of the Kriegsmarine, but some of them were the result of victories in "classical" surface battles, like the battlecruiser Hood
or the aircraft carrier Glorious
