28.10.1893:   Hildebrand begins its trials. The trials had to be stopped because of boiler problems.
13.12.1893:   Used as guard ship in Kiel, followed by repairs.
01.08.1894:   Recommissioned.
05.08.1894:   Attached to the North Sea Reserve Division.
Autumn 1894:   Participation in the autumn fleet maneuvers.
22.09-24.10.1894:   Trials in the Baltic Sea.
27.10.1894:   Used as in the North Sea Reserve Division in Wilhlemshaven.
19.08-15.09.1894:   Participation in the autumn fleet maneuvers.
27.09.1894:   Decommissioned.
Autumn 1896:   The ship is recommissioned for participation in the autumn fleet maneuvers.
15.09.1896:   Decommissioned.
03.08.1897:   Recommissioned.
21.09.1897:   After the autumn fleet excercises, the ship is decommissioned.
01.08.1898:   Recommissioned.
22.09.1898:   After the autumn fleet excercises, the ship is decommissioned.
26.03.1899:   Recommissioned.
May 1899:   Voyage to Norway.
15.08-15.09.1899:   Participation in the autumn fleet maneuvers.
02.10.1899:   Decommissioned in Danzig, prepeared for reconstruction.
16.06.1901:   The ship's hull is cut into two pieces and a new midship section is inserted.
01.07.1902:   Hildebrand is recommissioned.
30.07.1902:   Used as Flagship of the II. Squadron.
17.08-18.9.1902:   Autumn fleet excercises.
-End of 1902:   Operations in the Baltic Sea.
30.08-12.09.1903:   Fleet excercises.
22.09.1903:   Flagship of the re-formed II. Squadron.
Jul-Aug 1904:   Autumn fleet excercises.
23.09.1904:   Decommissioned in Danzig.
Summer 1909:   Recommissioned, attached to the 3rd Sqaudron formed by the coast defense ships.
15.09.1909:   Decommissioned in Danzig.
12.08.1914:   Recommissioned after the outbreak of the war, attached to the 6th squadron formed by the coast defense ships Heimdall , Hildebrand , Hagen , Frithjof , Aegir , Odin , Beowulf and Siegfried .
21.08.1914:   Sent to Kiel.
Sep 1914:   Coast defence operations with the VI. Squadron in the German Beight.
02-03.11.1914:   Standby for the fleet operation to Yarmouth and Lowestroft.
28.09.1914:   Hildebrand assists the coast defence ship Hagen which had run aground.
09.12.1914:   While trying to assit the Answald , the Hildebrand runs aground, too and could only be saved the next day.
12.12.1914-06.04.1915:   Repairs in Wilhelmshaven.
-Aug 1915:   Coast defence operations with the VI. Squadron in the German Beight.
11.01.1916:   Sent to Kiel.
16.01.1916:   Decommissioned.
-1919:   Used as a floating barrack in Libau and Windau.
17.06.1919:   Stricken form fleet list and sold to the Netherland for scrap.
21.12.1919:   Being towd to the Netherlands, the ship beaches during a storm near Scheveningen.
1933:   Wreck is broken down.
