History

The heavy cruiser Bolzano was undergoing repairs after a torpedo hit when the German troops captured the ship in La Spezia in September 1943. Because of the damage, there was never a real attempt to repair the ship by the Germans. On 22.06.1944, the ships was sunk by an assault raid and capsized, the wreck was scrapped after the war.
