Artillerieschulschiff 1936 - 1940

08.02.1936:   Brummer is commissioned
Spring 1937:   Attached to the Marineflugabwehr- und Küstenartillerieschule (Naval Air Defense and Artillery School) in Swinemünde.
29.05.- 02.06.1937:   Visit to Odde.
03-06.06.1937:   Visit to Göteborg.
17-21.05.1938:   Voyage to Helsingborg.
September 1939:   Mine laying operations in the Baltic Sea.
January 1940:   Used as a commerce raider in the Baltic Sea.
April 1940:   Operation "Weserübung":  
Brummer is used as command ship of a transport squadron.
14.04.1940:   Torpedoed by the British submarine Sterlet , loosing the complete bow section. The ship was held afloat for nine hours, finally capsizing in the early morning of the next day.
