17.11.1892:   Commissioned with a provisorical armament.
Jun 1893 - May 1895:   Put out of service, major repairs and refits. A huge engine breakdown occurred during engine tests.
1896:   Planned armament is installed.
1897-Summer 1902:   Sent to East Asia, part of the cruiser squadron.
Summer 1902:   Returned to Germany.
1902-1905:   Modernized, after that put into reserve status.
1914:   Recommissioned as artillery training ship and part of the Baltic Sea defence fleet.
1916:   Used as a target ship.
14.12.1918:   Final decommission.
01.10.1919:   Stricken from fleet list.
1920:   Scrapped in Kiel.
