21.11.1905:   Yorck is commissioned.
27.03.1906:   Attached to the reconnaissance forces.
07-28.02.1908:   Atlantic voyage of the reconnaissance forces. During the voyage several wireless radio communication experiments are made.
July - August 1908:   Another Atlantic voyage of the reconnaissance forces.
February 1909:   Training voyage in the North Atlantic, including a visit to Vigo.
31.03.1911:   While being in the shipyard for repairs, a benzol explosion took place in one of the ships boiler rooms.
November 1911:   Visit to Norway.
02.11.1912:   During a maneuver, one of the Yorck's boats is destroyed by a mine explosion.
04.03.1913:   Yorck rams the torpedo boat S178 which sinks after the collision.
21.05.1913:   Decommissioned and attached to the reserve fleet.
12.08.1914:   Put into active service again and used in the reconnaissance forces.
September 1914:   Used for coastal patrol duties.
02-04-11.1914:   Covers fleet operation in the North Sea. On its way back to Germany, the ship runs into a German mine field, is hit by two mines and capsizes. 336 of the crew are lost. parts of the wreck were raised in 1929/30, 1965 and in the 1980s.
