Aug 1911:   Shipyard trials.
23.08.1911:   Helgoland is commissioned.
19.12.1911:   End of trials and ship is put into active duty.
20.12.1911:   Attached to the 1st Battleship Squadron in Wilhlemshaven.
Mar 1912:   Fleet excercises in the North Sea.
Nov 1912:   Fleet excercises in the North Sea.
Aug 1914:   Part of the 1st Battleship Squadron at the outbreak of the war.
05-06.03.1916:   Operations at the Hoofoten.
 03.11.1914:   Covers battlecruisers during coastal bombardment of Yarmouth.
 16.12.1914:   Covers battlecruisers during coastal bombardment of Scarborough.
Aug 1915:   Operations in the eastern Baltic Sea.
24.04.1916:   Covers battlecruiser coastal bombardment of Yarmouth and Lowestoft.
31.05.1916:   Battle of Jutland: Helgoland is hit once. During the nicht battle, the ship engages several British destroyers.
03-16.06.1916:   Repairs at Kaiserliche Werft in Wilhelmshaven
18-19.08.1916:   Unsuccessful North Sea Raid.
18-20.10.1916:   Unsuccessful North Sea Raid.
Apr 1917:   While leaving Wilhlemshaven, the Helgoland ramms the battlecruiser Hindenburg which is colose to completion. The Hindenburg is lightly damaged.
Oct 1917:   Together with the Oldenburg , the battleship covers the returning mine cruisers Brummer and Bremse .
27.10.1917:   Sent into the Baltic Sea.
08.11.1917:   Returned to the North Sea.
23.04.1918:   Unsuccessful raid in the northern North Sea at the area of Stavanger.
21-22.11.1918:   Sent to Harwich to take over and return the crew of U-Boats which had to be delivered to Britain.
16.12.1918:   Decommissioned
05.11.1919:   Striken from fleet lists.
05.08.1920:   Taken over by Britain in replacement of the ships scuttled at Scapa Flow as ship K .
1924:   Scrapped at Morecambe after several tests.
