Flottenbegleiter F3


The Flottenbegleiter F3 was used in the 2nd Geleitflotille after being commissioned.  Put out of service in 28.10.1938 to be rebuild as a fleet tender. Its planned name was Königin Louise , but on 05.03.1940 it was recommissioned as fleet tender Hai . Used as a tender for the Minehunters in the Baltic Sea it took part in the first attack of Operation Barbarossa - the attack on Russia and was damaged by bomb near misses on 28.06.1941. On 24.06.1942 it was again attacked by Soviet aircraft.  Sunk on 03.05.1945 during an attack by British "Typhoon" fighter bombers on Kiel. Wreck raised in 1948 and broken down.
