History
The former German freighter Gutenfels

, it was used by the British until it was captured by the auxiliary cruiser Wolf
in February 1917. Equipped as an auxiliary cruiser, the now named Iltis
was send to Aden to lay a minefield there. During this operation, the ship was detected by the British cruiser Odin
and scuttled by its crew on 05.03.1917.
