History

After the invasion of the Netherlands, a batch of three incomplete gunboats were captured and it was decided to complete all three ships.

K2 was launched on 28.06.1941 but badly damaged in an attack in July 1941. Therefore construction was delayed until 14.11.1942 when the ship finally went into service. After a hit by an aircraft launched torpedo on 09.10.1944, the badly damaged ship was towed to the Netherlands where it was scrapped in 1947.
