01.09.1939:   Together with the cruisers Köln , Leipzig , Nürnberg and other destroyers operations in the Danzig Beight.
13.09.1939:   Together with Bernd von Arnim , Theodor Riedel  and the mine layers  Cobra, Hansestadt Danzig, Kaiser,  and Roland , the Friedrich Eckoldt lays the mine field "b" MARTHA-EINS in the North Sea. 960 Mines are laid during this operation, 240 from Friedrich Eckold .
07-09.10.1939:  

Raid to intercept Britain - Scandinavia trade together with battleship Gneisenau , CL Köln and destroyers Wilhlem Heidkamp ,  Erich Steinbrinck ,  Diether von Roeder ,  Theodor Riedel ,  Paul Jakobi,   Bernd von ArnimFriedrich Ihn and Max Schulz . No results.

17-18.10.1939:   Mine laying operations together with the destroyers Karl Galster , Wilhlem Heidkamp , Diether von Roeder , Hans Lüdemann and Hermann Künne against the Humber estuary.
18-19.10.1939:   Mine laying operations together with the destroyers Hans Lody and Erich Steinbrinck against the Humber estuary. The returning ships are escorted by the light cruiser Nürnberg and the torpedo boats Iltis ,  Leopard , Wolf and Seeadler .
06-07.01.1940:   Mine laying operations together with the destroyers Erich Steinbrinck, Friedrich Ihn, Karl Galster, Richard Beitzen and Hermann Schoemann against the Themse estuary.
10-11.01.1940:   Mine laying operations together with the destroyers Anton Schmitt , Karl Galster , Richard Beitzen , Friedrich Ihn and Wilhlem Heidkamp against Newcastle.
09-10.02.1940:   Mine laying operations together with the destroyers Max Schulz and Richard Beitzen against the Shipwash-Area. The mine laying destroyers are supported by Wilhlem Heidkamp , Theodor Riedel and Hermann Schoemann .
22-23.02.1940:   Operation "Wikinger": Together with Richard Beitzen , Erich Koellner , Theodor Riedel , Max Schulz and Leberecht Maaas , the Friedrich Eckold operate against british fishing boats at the Doggerbank. On their way to the operations area, the destroyers are attacked by a German bomber, sinking the Lebercht Maas . During the evasive manouvers, the destroyers run into British mines and the Max Schulz is lost after a mine hit.
07.04.1940:   Operation Weserübung: Friedrich Eckoldt joins the destroyers Paul Jakobi, Bruno Heinemann, and Theodor Riedel in the Trondheim Attack Group.
09-11.09.1940:   Together with Karl GalsterHans Lody , Theodor Riedel and Friedirch IhnFriedrich Eckoldt  is sent to Cherbourg.
19-20.09.1940:   Transfer to Brest.
28-29.09.1940:   Mine laying operation at Falmouth Bay together with the destroyers Theodor Riedel , Hans Lody , Karl Galster , Paul Jakobi , Friedrich Ihn and Erich Steinbrinck .
05-07.11.1940:   Paul Jakobi , Theodor Riedel , Friedrich Eckoldt , Erich Steinbrinck and Friedrich Ihn are returned to Germany.
20-26.05.1941:   Operation Rheinübung: The destroyers Friedrich Eckoldt , Hans Lody , Friedirch Ihn , Erich Steinbrinck , Karl Galster and Z20 escort the battleship Bismarck and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen from the Baltic Sea to Trondheim. After that, the destroyers return to Germany.
10-14.06.1941:   Hans Lody , Friedrich Eckoldt , Karl Galster , Z23 and Z24 escort the damaged cruiser Lützow (airborne torpedo hit) back to Germany.
20-21.06.1941:   Friedrich Eckoldt, Karl Galster and Hermann Schoemann are send to Bergen.
04-11.07.1941:   The 6th destroyer flotilla, consiting of the destroyers Friedrich Eckoldt , Karl Galster , Herman Schoemann , Richard Beitzen and Hans Lody are transferred to Kirkenes.
12-16.07.1941:   Operations of the 6th destroyer flotilla near hte North Cape and Kola: Hans Lody , Karl Galster , Hermann Schoemann , Friedrich Eckoldt and Richard Beitzen sink the Russian patrol boats Passat and Molotow .
22-24.07.1941:   The 6th destroyer flotilla, consiting of the destroyers Friedrich Eckoldt , Karl Galster , Herman Schoemann , and Richard Beitzen operate in the Arctic Sea and sink the Russian patrol boat Meridian and one float plane.
29-30.07.1941:   Hans Lody , Hermann Schoemann , Friedrich Eckoldt and Richard Beitzen operate against th Kaja- and Jugor-Street. The operation is aborted when a British task group consisting of aircraft carriers, cruisers and destroyers is reported.
04-05.08.1941:   Friedrich Eckoldt and Richard Beitzen escort troop transports in North Norway.
09-10.08.1941:   Friedrich Eckoldt, Hans Lody  and Richard Beitzen operate near the Kola-Fjord and the Kildin-Islands. The Soviet patrol boat SKR 12/Tuman is sunk.
23-26.08.1941:   Karl Galster and Friedrich Eckoldt escort a convoy from Tromsö to Kirkenes.
28-29.08.1941:   Karl Galster and Friedrich Eckoldt escort a convoy from Kirkenes to Tromsö.
31.08-02.09.1941:   Friedrich Eckoldt escorts a convoy from Tromsö to Kirkenes.
16-17.09.1941:   Hans Lody , Friedrich Eckoldt and Karl Galster escort a convoy from Kirkenes to Honnigsvaag.
25-27.09.1941:   Karl Galster and Friedrich Eckoldt escort a convoy from Hammerfest to Kirkenes.
12.10.1941:   Karl Galster and Friedrich Eckoldt escort a convoy from Kirkenes to Tromsö.
19-22.10.1941:   Karl Galster escorts the damaged destroyer Friedrich Eckoldt (ramming) to Trondheim.
05.09.11.1941:   Fridrich Eckoldt is send to Germany for repairs.
03-06.07.1942:   Operation Rösselsprung:
In a major operation of the battleship Tirpitz and the heavy cruisers Admiral Scheer , Lützow and Admiral Hipper against the allied convoy PQ17, several destroyers and torpedo boats escort the capital ships: Friedrich Ihn , Hans Lody , Karl Galster , Theodor Riedel , Richard Beitzen , Friedrich Eckoldt , Erich Steinbrinck , Z24 , Z27 , Z28 , Z29 , Z30 , T7 and T15 . The operation is cancelled, but the convoy is heaviely attacked by U-boats and the Luftwaffe.
09-12.07.1942:   On the way to Norway, the light cruiser Köln , esorted by the destroyer Friedrich Eckoldt , lays mines near Jutland.
14-15.07.1942:   Mine laying operation in the North Sea by light cruiser Köln and destroyers Friedrich Ihn , Friedrich Eckoldt and Z24 .
17-18.08.1942:   Friedrich Eckoldt , Erich Steinbrinck and Richard Beitzen escort the heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer to the Bear Islands.
29-31.08.1942:   Friedrich Eckoldt, Erich Steinbrinck and Richard Beitzen escort the heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer from Bear Island to Norway.
03-40.10.1942:   Richard Beizen and Friedrich Eckoldt relocate from the Altafjord to Kirkenes.
13-15.10.1942:   Mine laying operation of Richard Beitzen , Friedrich Eckoldt , Z27 and Z30 near Kanin Nos.
20-21.10.1942:   Richard Beitzen , Friedrich Eckoldt and Z29 escort the heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer from the Altafjord to Narvik.
23-24.10.1942:   Richard Beitzen , Friedrich Eckoldt, Z23, Z28  and Z29 escort the battleship Tirpitz and the  heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer from Narvik to Trondheim.
25-26.10.1942:   The destroyers Richard Beitzen and Friedrich Eckoldt return to Narvik.
28-29.10.1942:   Richard Beitzen and Friedrich Eckoldt escort the heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper to the Alta-Fjord.
05-09.11.1942:   The 5th destroyer flottilla, consisting of Richard Beitzen , Friedrich Eckoldt , Z27 and Z30 , escort the heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper during an operation into the Barents Sea to attack allied shipping.
