Z29 (1945)

Z29 was part of the 8th destroyer flotilla - also called  the "Narvik" flotilla and used during Operation Cerberus . Until Mid of 1942 the ship was based in Narvik and later took part in the Battle of the Barents Sea  December of 1942. After Operation Sizilien, Z29 escorted the battlecruiser Scharnhorst during its last voyage. In January 1945 the ship returned to Germany and was decommissioned on 07.05.1945. Taken over by the British and given to the US in December 1945. Because of the bad condition of the ship it was sunk by the US Navy on 16.12.1946 near Jutland.
