History

An unusual mine layer was the small ferry Primus . Commissioned on 03.08.1914 as auxiliary mine layer in Kiel, it only served in this duty until the end of the year, after that it returned to its original task as a ferry. It was used in this role until 1945. In 1969 it was converted in a repair shop ship and is possibly still existing today
