13.09.1899:   Vineta is commissioned.
- 24.03.1900:   Training and trials.
26.05.1900:   Sent to the West Indies and South America, Vineta leaves Kiel.
14.06.1900:   Arrival in the Caribbean Sea.
Jan - Feb 1901:   Visit to New Orleans and Mexico.
- Nov 1901:   Operation in South America.
26.11 - 17.12.1901:   Repairs at Newport News.
-May 1902:   Operation in South America.
19.05 - 25.09.1902:   Repairs at Newport News.
Sep 1902 - Feb 1903:   The Vineta joins a multi national blockade force during the crisis in Venezuela.
27.06 - 02.09.1903:   Repairs in Halifax.
Dec 1903 - Jan 1904:   Operation in the West Indies.
20.05 - 11.07. 1904:   Visit to Newport News.
- Oct 1904:   Voyage along the South American east coast.
Oct 1904 - Jan 1905:   Sent to South -West Africa to support German troops during the Herero-Rebellion. The crew of the Vineta was not actively used in the fightings.
14.03.1905:   Arrival in Wilhelmshaven.
30.03.1905:   Assigned to the torpedo inspection and rebuild as torpedo experimental ship.
03.03.1906:   Used as torpedo experimental ship.
21.03 - 05.04.1907:   Experiments with wireless telegraphy during a visit to Vigo.
25.08 - 07.09.1907:   Participation in autumn fleet maneuvers.
1909-1911:   Reconstruction at Kaiserliche Werft Danzig.
29.03.1911:   Reclassified as training ship.
07.06.-25.07.1911:   Voyage to Norway.
04.08.-09.03.1912:   Voyage to the West Indies.
Jul 1913:   Voyage to Sweden and the Baltic Sea.
06.08.1912-05.03.1913:   Voyage to the Mediterranean Sea.
11.08.1913-16.03.1914:   Voyage to South America and the West Indies.
Summer 1914:   Voyage to Sweden.
27.08.1914:   Reassigned to fleet services for coastal defense in the Baltic Sea.
Nov 1914:   Decommissioned because of bad general condition, used as a floating barrack for U-boat crews in Kiel.
06.12.1919:   Stricken from fleet list.
1920:   Scrapped  in Hamburg.
