History
The old Italian destroyer Frencesco Crispi
was captured by the Kriegsmarine after the Italian surrender in September 1943. Equipped with additional anti aircraft guns and renamed to TA15
it was commissioned on 30.10.1943 and attached to the 9th Torpedoboot flotilla operating in the Aegean Sea. Despite severe problems with one engine in 1944, reducing the speed to 15 kn, the ship was still used due to the lack of available ships. On 08.03.1944, it was hit by three rockets fired by aircraft and sunk near Heraklion.
