History
German troops captures the Italian destroyer Dardo
on 09.09.1943 in a shipyard in Genoa where it was undergoing repairs (the ship is said to be capsized in 1941 or 1942 because of a too high top weight). Although being not in a fully operational condition, the ship was commisioned by the Kriegsmarine because of the lack of available ships. After a short operational service in the 10th torpedo boat flotilla it was heavily damaged by bomb hits on 25.10.1943 in La Spezia and decommissioned. The wreck was scuttled on April 1945.
