Z 25 (1941)

Z25 was part of the 8th destroyer flotilla - also called  the "Narvik" flotilla, stationed in Kirkens and used for unsuccessful operations along the Murmansk coast until the end of 1941 when returned to Germany. After participation of Operation Cerberus , Z25 was part of the "Zerstörergruppe Arktis" and operated against the convoy PQ 13. In April 1942, Z24 , Z25 and Hermann Schoemann attacked the damaged British cruiser Edinburgh , damaging the British ship that it had to be sunk. In September 1942, Z25 was used in a mine laying operation in the Barents Sea and transferred to France in March 1943. The ship was later used for escort operations in the Baltic Sea and taken over by the British, given to France in February 1946. Renamed as Hoche , in service until 02.01.1958. Later used as hulk Q102 and scrapped soon.
