This design of a small fast attack boat called "Typboot 3" was the result of a evolution of various small attack craft designs made by the K-Verband in 1944/1945. Being much smaller than the well known S-Boats, those vehicles were to be used only close to coastal areas, especially after the invasion in Normandy. For this reason, its best protection should have been its speed and small size.
This design was the base for further development in fast attack craft projects, like the Hydrofoil Project and Turbojet Hydrofoil Project.
None of these vessels was even started to build.
