Being based on the design of a small fast attack boat (Typboot 4), this design of a K-Verband project was created with the focus on implementing a method for faster target approaches and disengagement. Therefore the previous design was modified to a hydrofoil, together with a 400 hp power increase. The result was a projected speed increase of another 8 knots.

Since the Kriegsmarine did not have any operational experience for hydrofoils, this would have been the first hydrofoils in Kriegsmarine service, but none of these  boats was ever build.
