History
The Kawakaze
was originally build as a destroyer for Japan, but bought as Intrepido
by Italy in 1916. Reclassified as torpedo boat and renamed to Audace
, it was captured on 12. 09.1943 in Venice. After equipped with additional antiaircraft guns, it was used as TA20
for escort duty in the Adriatic Sea. On 01.11.1944 it was sunk in a battle with the British destroyers Avon Vale
and Wheatland
