History
This destroyer of the Italian Soldati class was captured by the Kriegsmarine while still incomplete. TA33
(former Squadrista
) was first planed to be converted into a night fighter command ship. Therefore it was equipped with a "Freya" Funkmeßgerät (Radar) and additional 2 cm anti aircraft guns. In June 1944 it was decided to convert the almost complete ship into a torpedo boat, removing all the night fighter guidance equipment. Since the ship sunk on 04.09.1944 after three bomb hits, it was never put into service.
