01.12.1907:  Danzig is commissioned.
-06.04.1908:  Test and trials.
-1909:  Fleet service as part of the reconnaissance forces.
Feb - Mar 1909:  Fleet maneuvers in the North Atlantic.
Jul 1909:  Visit to Spain.
05.06.1910:  Assigned as artillery training ship.
Mar 1911:  Together with the Prinz Adalbert , the Danzig executes artillery training near the Faroers Islands.
02.04.1911:  Attached to the training ship squadron.
22.10-02.12.1911:  Repairs and refits.
-Summer 1914:  Several training voyages as part of the training ship squadron.
27.07.1914:  Used for defenses of the Kiel Beight.
01.08.1914:  Assigned to the III Reconnaissance group in the North Sea.
28.08.1914:  After the battle at Helgoland, Danzig is sent to rescue any survivors of the sunken German ships. 170
crew members of the small cruiser Ariadne could be rescued.
May 1915:  Operation off the Finnish coast.
18.05.1915:  The cruiser covers a mine operation at the Doggerbank. On its way back to Germany, the Danzig is hit by a British mine, disabling all engines and has to be town by the small cruiser Berlin .
-13.11.1915:  Repairs in Bremen.
-23.11.1915:  Sent do Libau for another mine operation.
25.11.1915:  Hit by a mine again, the rudder is lost and all stern sections are flooded.
-12.07.1916:  Repairs in Bremen.
04.08.1916:  Coast defence in the German Beight.
Aug - Oct 1916:  The cruiser covers several mine operations.
01.12.1916:  Attached to he 2nd Reconnaissance Group of the Hochseeflotte.
11.01.1917:  Mine operations between Norderney and Helgoland.
11.06.1917:  Used as a target ship for the U-Boat training school.
25.03.1918:  Decommissioned.
05.11.1919:  Stricken from fleet list.
15.09.1920:  Taken over by Britain.
1921 - 1923:  Scrapped.
