10.08.1914:   Graudenz is commissioned.
27.11.1914:   Assigned as flagship of the 2nd leader of the torpedo boats.
10.09.1914:   Used  for patrol duties in the German Beight.
20-26.09.1914:   Sent to the eastern Baltic Sea.
02-03.11.1914:   Raid against the British East Coast, short battle with the British torpedo gun boat Halcyon.
15-16.12.1914:   Raid against the British East Coast.
25.12.1914:   During an air attack against the air ship hangars at Nordholz, the Graudenz is attacks as well. One near miss 200 meters away from the small cruiser.
03-04.01.1915:   Operation near Amrum.
24.01.1915:   Graudenz takes part in the Battle at the Doggerbank, but has no contact with the enemy.
17.02-02.03.1915:   Refits and repairs.
17-28.03.1915:   Bombardment of Polangen in the Baltic Sea.
30.03-08.04.1915:   Training in the Baltic Sea.
17-18.04.1915:   Together with the cruisers Straßburg , Pillau and Rostock , the Graudenz lays a mine field near Swarte Bank.
21-22.04.1915:   Participation in fleet operations.
17-18.05.1915:   Mine operation at the Doggerbank.
25-26.05.1915:   Operation north of Borkum.
29-30.05.1915:   Participation in fleet operations.
03-29.08.1915:   Operations in the eastern Baltic Sea.
08.09.1915:   Together with the Pillau , the Graudenz takes part in a rescue operation to assist two damaged torpedo boats.

Decommissioned  for refits in Kiel: The 10,5 cm guns are removed and replaced by 15 cm and 8,8 cm guns.
19.02.1916:   Recommissioned.

21-22.04.1916:   Participation in fleet operations. On the way back to Germany the Graudenz is hit by a mine.

29-30.01.1917:   Operations near the Hoofden.

10-13.03.1918:   Together with the Emden , Frankfurt , Bremse and 17 torpedo boats, the Graudenz operates near Jutland to control merchant shipping. 7 ships are captured.

23-25.04.1918:   Participation in fleet operations.
31.07.1918:   Participation in fleet operations.
09.11.1918:   Operation into the German Beight.
02.01.1919:   Graudenz assists the torpedo boat T190 during heavy weather.
01.06.1920:   Graudenz is taken over by Italy as "Kreuzer E ".
06.05.1925:   Renamed to Ancona , the ship is commissioned in Italian services.
Sep 1932:   Put into fleet reserve status.
11.03.1937:   Stricken from fleet list.
1938:   Scrapped.
